MUSEUM VREDEBURG

Vredeburg Fortress doesn't separate with Kasultanan Jogjakarta. The born of the Kasultanan Jogjakarta begin from Giyanti agreement which is the VOC (Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie) intervention. The VOC want to divide the Mataram Kingdom become two parts, named Kasunanan Surakarta and Kasultanan Jogjakarta. 

After separated, the Kasultanan Jogjakarta was led by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono I. He was built the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace soon. The quick establishment of the palace make fearful for the VOC. This condition make the VOC want to build a fortress to control the development of palace.

An Adventure of Going along Underground River That Has Many Stories

Wading across a river using b is somethinoatg common, but if the river is located inside a cave, of course it will be an enjoyable yet challenging experience. Pindul is a cave that becomes part of the group of seven caves with underground river flowing inside. It is located in a village named Bejiharjo, Karangmojo and it offers the real sensation of adventure. For about 45 to 60 minutes, visitors will be invited to go along the river in the darkness of the bowels of the earth with 300 meters length using lifebelt. This is an activity combining body rafting and caving, and later called cave tubing.

Gudeg

Gudeg is a traditional food from Yogyakarta and Central Java, Indonesia which is made from young Nangka (jack fruit) boiled for several hours with palm sugar, and coconut milk.
Additional spices include garlic, shallot, candlenut, coriander seed, galangal, bay leaves, and teak leaves, the latter giving a brown color to the dish. It is also called Green Jack Fruit Sweet Stew.

Gudeg is served with white rice, chicken, hard-boiled egg, tofu and/or tempeh, and a stew made of crispy beef skins (sambal goreng krecek).

Prambanan

Prambanan temple is extraordinarily beautiful building constructed in the tenth century during the reigns of two kings namely Rakai Pikatan and Rakai Balitung. SRI GETHUK WATER FALL

It will probably crossed your mind that South Mountain is identical to the arid land? but in fact there is an attraction Niagara Sri Gethuk which would indicate an abundance of water in parts of South Mountain. Sri Gethuk springs located in the hamlet Menggoran, Bleberan Village, District Playen, South Mountain, about 40 km from Yogyakarta. Monument Jogja Kembali


Yogya Kembali Monument Museum, is a museum of history of the Republic of Indonesia's independence struggle in the city of Yogyakarta and managed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Museum is located in the north of the city is much visited by students in the event of excursions.


Yogya kembali monument was built on June 29, 1985 with a ceremonial planting buffalo head and laying the first stone by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX and Sri Paduka Paku Alam VIII. The idea to establish this monument were raised by Soegiarto colonel, as the Mayor of Yogyakarta in 1983.

Siung Beach

Siung coast rich in giant coral reefs. Coral cliff has 250 climbing routes, is also the perfect place to enjoy the beach panorama. There are also reefs resemble cloves Vanara which the naming of the beach.

Parangtritis Beach


In addition to being the most popular beach in Yogyakarta, Parangtritis is worth visiting since it is closely related to such tourism objects as the Sultan Palace in Yogyakarta city, Parangkusumo Beach to the west of it, and the Merapi area at the north part of Yogyakarta.


Located around 27 kilometers from the city center, Parangtritis Beach is also part of the Queen of South's authority.

The naming of the beach has its own history. Hundreds years ago, someone named Dipokusumo, who was a fugitive of Majapahit Kingdom, came to this area to meditate. When he saw water dripping from the crack of the coral reef, he named this area 'parangtritis', originating from the word parang (stone) and tumaritis (water drops). The beach close to the area was then named the same.
